Currently working as a Senior Software Engineer (5+ years of IT experience) for a reputed firm in Bangalore, due to the uncertainities in IT though i am well equipped with my job i still have concern about the future in IT. Hence thinking to switch over to Banking Sector. Should i go for this change? 2. I am a married man and born and brought up in Bangalore. Does the job in banking asks me for frequent transfers or is it optional (if i sacrifice promotions) 3. As iam working for MNC is it necessary for me to provide NOC at the time of PO interview, as no company would give you NOC before resignation. 4. My Date of Birth is 1980 and i have OBC with me which means can i still try for PO till 33 years of age?   10/3/2011 9:38:06 AM Crabn3bula Re: Queries - PO   Hey Bro...no doubt IT Sector is very volatile and its future cannot be predicted..I also works for an reputed IT company... nd trying for various competitive exams..but as u have told u are married and u have abt 5 yrs exp then u need to keep few things in mind befire taking any decision... 1) u need to understand that the salary package in any government sector including banks stands no where near the MNCs although govt jobs have job security and retirment benifits which make them eye catching..but the thing is many PSU and govt organisation are restructuring there retirement policies so with PSU you have to compromise with salary. 2) Specificlly talking abt banking the transfer are highest among various govt jobs and they are not by our own choice..so be prepared to live in a metro like bangalore or Mumbai or even a small town of UP or Rajasthan as these jobs are on all india basis. 3) As u are of OBC u can avail the age relaxation provided u are in non cremelayer category (Low income group) 4) About NOC i am not sure that they ask for it or not...
