ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA:
(A) Nationality /Citizenship:
a. A candidate must be either (i) a citizen of India, OR (ii) a subject of Nepal, OR (iii) subject of Bhutan, OR (iv) a Tibetan refugee who came over to India before 1st January, 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India, OR (v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India. Provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India. A candidate in whose case a certificate of eligibility is necessary may be admitted to the examination/ interview conducted by the Bank but on final selection, the offer of appointment shall be given only after the necessary eligibility certificates issued by the Government of India is produced before the Bank.
Domicile: For the post of Office Assistant candidate must be a domicile of Punjab.
{ The Domicile Certificate should have been issued before the closing date of applications, i.e., 03.11.2011 and should be
valid on the date of application as well as at the time of interview.}
b. The candidate must have proficiency in local language i.e. Punjabi and must have passed “Punjabi” as one of the subjects at Matriculation/ Senior School Certificate (old pattern)/ Graduation or at equivalent level.
(B) EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION (as on 30.09.2011)

(i) Bachelor Degree or its equivalent of a recognised University in any discipline;
(ii) (a) Essential: Proficiency in local language i.e. Punjabi and must have passed “Punjabi” as one of the subject at Matriculation/ Senior School Certificate (old pattern)/Graduation or at equivalent level;
(b) Desirable: Knowledge of Computer skills.

Note:
a) WRONG ANSWERS given in the objective tests will result in negative marks. 1/4th
MARK will be deducted for each wrong answer.
b) *The candidates can opt for either 4a or 4b (General English or General Hindi).
c) The total marks obtained in all the four papers will be converted from 200 to 70, for the purpose of preparing merit list after the written examination.
d) To be eligible for interview a candidate must obtain minimum of 40% marks (35% for SC/OBC/PC/EXS) in written test.

HOW TO APPLY:
The candidate should have a valid e-mail ID. This will help him/ her in getting call letter/ interview advices etc. by e-mail. Eligible candidates should download two copies of desired challans, from the Bank’s website, for depositing fee with following Banks. First copy of challan shall be retained as voucher by bank while accepting fee,
second copy shall be kept by the candidate for handing it over to the invigilator at the time of written test. A photocopy of challan shall be retained by candidate for his/her records.
1. Malwa Gramin Bank
Candidates can deposit the prescribed fees/ postage at any of the Malwa Gramin Bank branches. The list of our branches together with Code numbers is available on our Bank’s Website “www.malwagraminbank.com” for information of the candidates. Candidate should ensure that on deposit of fees the branch issues him/ her a receipt which includes the following items:

d. Date of Deposit

Candidates can deposit the prescribed fees/ postage at any of the State Bank of Patiala branches. Candidate should ensure that on deposit of fees the branch issues him/ her a receipt which includes the following items:
a. Journal Number
b. Branch Name
c. Branch code Number
d. Date of Deposit
After filling the required information on the Challan they should pay the prescribed fees/ postage at the respective Bank.
The payment of fees should be made up to 03-11-2011. This date will be same for the candidates belonging to far-flung areas. The candidates should apply on-line through website “www.malwagraminbank.com” No other means/mode of application will be accepted. After applying on-line the candidate must retain the print out of the computer generated application form and preserve the same for submission at the time of interview. On submission of the online application, the candidate will receive a registration number and password, which he/she needs to retain for use in future. Photocopy of challan in respect of fee deposited will have to be submitted with the call letter at the time of written test. Without counterfoil of the fee receipt the candidate will not be allowed to appear in the written test.
Further there is a provision to modify the submitted ON-LINE application. Candidates are requested to make use of this facility to correct the details in ON-LINE application, if any. This modification facility shall be available after two days of registration and upto 05-11-2011 to the candidates who have registered their application online upto 03-11-2011 Modification will be allowed only three times. No modification will be permitted after 05-11-2011.
NO OTHER MODE OF APPLICATION/ PRINTOUT OR DRAFT ETC. WILL BE ACCEPTED.
Candidate in their own interest are advised to apply on-line much before the closing date and not to wait till the last date for depositing the fees to avoid the possibility of dis-connection/ inability/failure to log on the Bank’s website on account of heavy internet/website jam.
The bank does not assume any responsibility for the candidates not being able to submit their applications by the last date on account of the aforesaid reasons or for any other reason.
