IBPS( Institute of Banking Personnel Selection ) has recently issued official announcment for common written test for recruitment of Specialist officers in 19 mainstream public sector banks.
IBPS Conducted written tests for posts of PO/MTs in September 2011 and for clerks posts in November 2011. Now IBPS Has anounced first ever common written exam for posts of Specialist officers in 19 public sector banks. The posts covered in this common exam are as follows :-

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA (as on 01.12.2012)
Prospective Candidates should ensure that they fulfill the minimum eligibility criteria
specified by IBPS before applying for the Common Written Examination (CWE): Please note that the eligibility criteria specified herein are the basic criteria for applying to various Public Sector Banks. However merely applying for CWE/ appearing for and qualifying in the examination does not imply that a candidate will necessarily be eligible for employment in all or any of the 19 Public Sector Banks as each Bank will stipulate its own eligibility/ qualifying criteria.
I. Nationality / Citizenship:
A candidate must be either -
(i) a Citizen of India or
(ii) a subject of Nepal or
(iii) a subject of Bhutan or
(iv) a Tibetan Refugee who came over to India before 1st January 1962 with the intention of permanently settling in India or
(v) a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India, provided that a candidate belonging to categories (ii), (iii), (iv) & (v) above shall be a person in whose favour a certificate of eligibility has been issued by the Government of India.
I.T. Officer (Scale-I) .
Age to be between 20 - 35 Years,
Should have completed A Graduate or Post - Degree in any Computers related trade (Computer Science/IT/Electronics and communication/Electronics and Tele-communication/Electronics and Instrumentation),
OR,
Graduate in any trade having passed DOEACC ‘B’ level.
No Experience required.
Agricultural Field Officer (Scale-I)
Age to be between 20 - 35 Years,
Should have completed A Degree in any Agricultural Trade,
No Experience required.
Rajbhasha Adhikari (Scale - I)
Age to be between 20 - 35 Years,
Should have completed a post Graduate Degree in Hindi( with English as a subjects at the degree level) OR in Sanskrit( with English and Hindi as subjects at the degree level) ,
No Experience required.
Law Officer (Scale - I )
Age to be between 20 - 35 Years,
Should have completed A Bachelor Degree in Law (LLB),
No Experience required.
Technical Officer (Scale - I )
Age to be between 20 - 35 Years,
Should have completed a Bachelor Degree in Engineering (B.Tech.) or B.Pharm. ,
No Experience required.
HR/Personnel Officer (Scale - I )
Age to be between 20 - 35 Years,
Having completed Graduate and Post Graduate degree/diploma in Personnel Management or any other trade with specialization in HRD.
No Experience required.
Marketing Officer (Scale - I )
Age to be between 20 - 35 Years,
MBA in Marketing / 2 years PGDBA / PGDBM or any degree or diploma with specialization in Marketing,
No Experience required.
I.T. Officer (Scale - II)
Age to be between 21 - 40 Years,
Should have completed A Graduate or Post - Degree in any Computers related trade (Computer Science/IT/Electronics and communication/Electronics and Tele-communication/Electronics and Instrumentation),
OR,
Graduate in any trade having passed DOEACC ‘B’ level.
Experience required - Minimum one year.
Law Officer (Scale - II)
Age to be between 21 - 40 Years,
Should have completed A Bachelor Degree in Law (LLB),
Experience required - Minimum Three Years of service in legal dept of any public sector firm,
Age Relaxation Criteria
For SC/ST - 5 Years,
For OBC - 3 Years,
For PWD - 10 Years,
For Ex-Serviceman - 5 Years,

PENALTY FOR WRONG ANSWERS
There will be penalty for wrong answers marked in the Objective Tests. For each question for which a wrong answer has been given by the candidate one fourth or 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question will be deducted as penalty to arrive at corrected score. If the total of the penalty for a test is in fraction, the marks obtained will be rounded off to the nearest integer, i.e. if fraction exceeds by 0.50 or more, it will be rounded off to next higher integer. If for any question a candidate gives more than one answer, it will be treated as wrong even if one of the given answers happens to be right and there will be the same penalty of 0.25 of the marks assigned to that question deducted as penalty. If a question is left blank, i.e. no answer is given by the candidate , there will be no penalty for that question.
HOW TO APPLY
Candidates can apply online only from 30.12.2011 to 21.01.2012 and no other mode of
application will be accepted.
Pre-Requisites for Applying Online
Before applying online, candidates should
(i) scan their photograph and signature ensuring that both the photograph and signature are within the required specifications as given in Annexure II.
(ii) keep the application fee/ intimation charges remittance details (Transaction details such as Transaction No., Branch Name & Code etc.) ready in case of Offline Payment i.e. CBS/ NEFT / Keep the necessary details/documents ready if desired to make online payment of the requisite application fee/ intimation charges.
(iii) have a valid personal email ID, which should be kept active till the declaration of
results of this round of CWE. IBPS may send call letters for Pre-Examination Training, Written Examination etc. through the registered e-mail ID. Under no circumstances, a candidate should share/mention e-mail ID to / of any other person. In case a candidate does not have a valid personal e-mail ID, he/she should create his/her new e-mail ID before applying on-line and must maintain that email account.

(1) Payment of fees/ intimation charges via the ONLINE MODE
(i) The application form is integrated with the payment gateway and the payment process can be completed by following the instructions.
(ii) The payment can be made by using only Master/ Visa Debit or Credit cards or Internet Banking by providing information as asked on the screen.
(iii) On successful completion of the transaction, an e-receipt will be generated.
(iv)Candidates are required to take a print of the e-receipt which will have to be
submitted with the Call Letter at the time of written examination.

· After submitting your payment information in the online application form, please wait for the intimation from the server, DO NOT press Back or Refresh button in order to avoid double charge
· For Credit Card users: All prices are listed in Indian Rupee. If you use a non-Indian credit card, your bank will convert to your local currency based on prevailing exchange rates.
· To ensure the security of your data, please close the browser window once your transaction is completed.
(2) OFFLINE MODE (at counters of specified Bank branches):
(i) payment of fee/ intimation charges through CBS branches of the following 6
Public Sector Banks
Bank of Baroda, Bank of India, Central Bank of India, Indian Overseas Bank, Punjab National Bank, United Bank of India
- A Format of the fee payment challan(CBS Challan) will be made available on IBPS website. Candidates are first required to take a printout of the fee payment challan from IBPS website and indicate the particular Bank in which they wish to pay fees/ intimation charges.
- Candidates are required to fill in the fee payment challan for any of the above Banks
with details such as Name, Date of Birth, Contact No., Category, Post Applied for, Amount deposited, Depositing Branch Name and City etc.
- Candidates can then make payment of the requisite fee/ intimation charges in any branch of the abovementioned Banks.
- Collect the candidate’s copy of the Fee Payment Challan from the Branch. Please check that the challan is properly signed and the details of Transaction Number, Branch Name and DP Code Number, Deposit Date have been noted in the challan by the Branch authorities.
Candidates are required to submit the original fee payment challan along with the Call Letter at the time of written examination.
(ii) Payment of Fees/ intimation charges through NEFT in any of the remaining 13 Public Sector Banks (PSBs)
- Candidates are required to fill the NEFT receipt(Format available on IBPS website) as required by the Bank with beneficiary details as follows.

- Candidates can then make payment of the requisite fee / intimation charges.
- The NEFT payment receipt must be collected from the Bank where payment has been made.
- Candidates should check that the receipt is properly signed and the details of NEFT UTR NO., IFSC code of the sending Bank branch, Name of the sending Bank, City name, Deposit date, Amount etc. are noted in the NEFT Payment Receipt by the Branch authorities.
